2nd Lanark Cub Scouts are celebrating the success of one of their members – Scott Murray – who was recently awarded the highest possible Cub Scout Award - The Chief Scout's Silver Award.

Scott has spent two years working for his Chief Scout Silver Award and finished his sixth and final challenge badge last week with a presentation to the rest of the pack about the importance of Recycling.

Other activities for the award included camping and learning to light fires, making and flying his own kite, visiting the local fire station, learning first aid and archery and finding out about ‘someone who has done their best’ – Keith Armour, an Edinburgh Scout Leader who has climbed Mount Everest!

As well as completing this top award, Scott has also attained 30 proficiency badges which include Swimming, I.T. Sports Enthusiast, Home Help, Water Activities and Emergency Aid. Well done Scott for this terrific achievement!
